Hidden Valley Neighbourhood

Homes in the area are built among small coulees with natural stands of aspen with Nose Creek cutting its way through the community as it flows south to the Bow River. Several kilometres of bike paths and walking trails connect the community.

Hidden Valley real estate includes moderately priced single-family homes to large, high-end homes that reflect the pioneer spirit of the Hanson family that once ranched the area where Hanson Ranch now stands. Two-storey homes feature prominently in Hidden Valley real estate, many with front-drive garages. Two-storey homes on narrow lots offer garages off the back lanes. There are a limited number of bungalows in Hidden Valley and back-to-front split levels. Home buyers will also find condominiums in Hidden Valley, townhomes and semi-detached homes. The Hanson Ranch area is comprised mostly of single-family homes. Homes are of modern design with stucco and vinyl siding exterior finishes. The more expensive homes in the Hanson Ranch area feature design influences from Arts and Crafts, Prairie and Craftsman traditions.

Hidden Valley Community Amenities

The natural coulees have been protected against development in Hidden Valley, and in Hanson Ranch/Hidden Creek, at least 40% of the neighbourhood has been left as wide open green space. It's a wonderful family community that supports and encourages outdoor living and recreation.. Hidden Valley has a busy community association that provides social and recreational programming for the 12,000 + residents of the area. It maintains an outdoor rink in the winter months and the topography of the community is perfect for tobogganing on a nearby slope Residents are also very close to Vivo for Healthier Generations with fitness facilities, pool, library and hockey rinks. There are a few scenic golf courses in the area, including the 36-hole Country Hills Golf and Country Club and the Hampton's Golf Course.

Hidden Valley Fire Station 36 is an interesting feature in the community. This fire hall is housed in a single-family residential home, a unique service which ensures rapid response in the neighbourhood for a variety of emergency situations. Shopping centres nearby include Beddington Town Centre and Country Hills Village with groceries, restaurants, theatres and more. The Calgary International Airport is only minutes east of Hidden Valley and downtown is a 25-minute commute at most.

Hidden Valley Neighbourhood Association

The Hidden Valley Community Association runs the neighbourhood sports programmes and recreational areas, which are built around a small creek and several park areas. Adjacent to Nose Hill Park’s 800 acres you’ll find several ball diamonds and a skating rink as well as nearby golf courses located in Harvest Hills, The Hamptons, Fox Hollow, and Country Hills.

Hidden Valley Community Schools

There are three schools within this community of 14,000 folks and more in surrounding neighbourhoods. Hidden Valley Elementary is a public school for students K-Grade 3. Valley Creek handles students in Grades 4 to 9 with a French Immersion program. Separate schools include St. Elizabeth Seton Elementary and Junior High School and St. Pius School. Students attending high school take transit to Crescent Heights Senior High School or St. Francis Catholic Senior High School.
