Homes in Northeast Calgary
Though there are many newer upscale communities here, the northeast quadrant is home to Calgary's most affordable housing for families. You'll find terrific deals on mid-century homes and ranchers, bungalows, condos, new construction and single family homes on the Northeast Calgary real estate market right now.
There are a number of mature communities here. Communities like Bridgeland, Renfrew and Mayland Heights all have easy access to the city and a wealth of homes built in the first half of the 20th century. Coral Springs is a well-planned lakeside community in the northeast. Newer North East Calgary communities are Taradale, Martindale, and Saddleridge.
Residents in Northeast Calgary have access to major arteries for quick commutes and good public transit. The C-Train runs from downtown all the way to the new McKnight-Westwinds station, near the planned communities of Castleridge, Martindale, Taradale and Saddleridge. The city will extend the line into Martindale and Saddleridge by 2011.

Parents in Northeast Calgary have many choices when it comes to public education for K-12 students. The Calgary Board of Education, Calgary Catholic School District, and French Language School Board all operate public schools in Northeast Calgary.

This city-run facility features a spectacular water park complete with wave pool, dive tank, three giant water slides, kiddy pool, hot tub and steam room. The centre also has two indoor arenas, a gym, an indoor playground, multipurpose and meeting rooms, a dance studio and drop in childcare. Programs include sports and fitness classes for the whole family, a preschool, dance classes, martial arts, day camps and drop-in sports. Wow.
