Calgary has an excellent theatre scene. There are plenty to choose from, but you may be looking for something unique. These locations in Calgary offer theme nights, special events, and special food and beverage options. Here is where you should go for a unique theatre experience in Calgary.

Forensic Friday at Vertigo Theatre

If you go to Vertigo Theatre on the third Friday of the month, you can enjoy BD&P’s Mystery Series. They have a post-show discussion with someone from the Calgary Police Services. Right now you can catch “Farewell My Lovely,” a detective tale playing in October. Afterwards, they’ll have a real detective present to talk about the play’s mysterious murders and how it’d be solved in real life.

Pizza Night at Alberta Theatre Projects

If you are looking for dinner and theatre, try Pizza Nights at Alberta Theatre Projects. They’ll be featuring “Butcher” a political thriller from mid-October to November 1st with pizza night being on October 16th. The pizza is included with your ticket. This is a fun place to catch theatre since they’ve also been known for their drink nights earlier this season.

Calgary Opera Sunday Opera Brunch

The Petroleum Club will be hosting brunch on October 26th at 11:30am for the Calgary Opera’s recital. They will be performing “Silent Night” after the brunch for you and your friends. Tickets are $70 and you can get a table for 8-10 people.

Happy Hour Thursday and Friday at Lunchbox Theatre

If you buy tickets to Lunchbox Theatre at Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse on Thursday and Friday nights, you can get happy hour priced drinks and complimentary appetizers at their restaurant beforehand. Tickets start at $25. Make sure to buy tickets for the 6:10pm show on either night.

Calgary Theatre is offering something unique at these four venues this season and you won’t want to miss the experience.
