Banff provides plenty of classics, such as the Johnston Canyon hike and the hot springs. However, there are plenty of new things you can enjoy within the Banff area. Here are just a few of the best Banff things to enjoy, new for this summer.

Crock A Doodle - 211 Bear Street

This is a very cool pottery-painting studio newly opened in Banff. You can enjoy creating cool items, drop-in painting sessions, adult get-togethers and much more.

Stand-Up Paddleboarding - Wolf Street and Bow Avenue

A zen-like fitness activity, stand-up paddleboarding has now made its way to Banff. You can enjoy this very cool sport at Two Jack Lake and Vermillion Lakes. Banff Canoe Club will rent you the equipment you need and you can go have plenty of fun.

Banff Farmers' Market - Bear Street and Caribou Street

It may not be new, but they have a new location. The Banff Farmers' Market has moved to offer a better location with more vendors and more parking. You can visit the market on Wednesdays from 10am to 6pm through September 23rd. Vendors at the market have all types of items from sandwiches and fruit wines to jewellery and more.

Park Distillery, Restaurant and Bar - 219 Banff Avenue

Maybe the best addition to Banff is the Park Distillery. This food-and-drink spot provides small-batch distillery-restaurant and bar. It has the same owners as Maple Leaf Grill and The Bison. They took over the old Giorgio's Trattoria location and provide a chic decor with plenty of antiques. The menu provides an "elevated camping" theme with a wood-fired oven. They even provide public tours of the distillery.

Along with all of these new things to do, you can enjoy the Summer Arts Festival at the Banff Centre and much more. If you haven't been to Banff lately, this summer is a great time to head out for a little road trip.
