Each New Year brings along with it expansion in many different ways. Calgary is growing and every year residents can expect plenty of new things. Here's a look at some of the new things coming to the city in 2015.
Simmons Building will Reopen
Not only will the Simmons Building reopen, but it will be better than ever. It will now include a baker, a coffee shop and a budget. The building is set to open in the summer of 2015 and include:
There will even be a rooftop patio!
CTrains and Other Transit Options
Four car CTrains will come to the city in late 2014 and provide another Calgary Transit option. These cars will be air conditioned, as well. There is also a chance that the city may finally get electronic fair cards. These cards were tested in late 2014 and may roll out in 2015.
Full Reopening of Bowness Park
The park was closed down in 2012 to undergo redevelopment. It was halfway done, but the flood of 2013 provided setbacks. In November of 2014, the park partially opened, but it is not yet all the way open. Bowness Park is expected to be fully open in 2015, however.
The Calgary Film Centre will be Coming Soon!
Another spot that will be open in 2015 is The Calgary Film Centre. This centre will cover 50,000 square feet of stages and 20,000 square feet of warehouse space. It cost about $23 million and will provide all types of shoes and events for the city.
These are just a few of the expectations for the City of Calgary in 2015. Many other things will be happening throughout the city within the next year.
