Calgary has become the place for retail and shopping is very hot. It's about to heat up even more as West Elm has announced they will be joining the scene in a Mount Royal Village location.
The village is undergoing a large expansion and the furniture store West Elm is just one of the additions coming to the area. Not only will this store provide another great place to shop, but they will also bring new jobs to the area. They will be offering managerial positions, along with many more in the near future.
The shop is a part of Williams-Somona and opened the first location in 2002. It's found in Brooklyn and since opening, they have expanded to more than 65 locations throughout North America. Currently, there are only three in Canada, but Calgary would make a fourth location.
Not only will the store provide better shopping, but it may also be a signal of a ship in the shopping scene of Calgary. It could be the start of a better restaurant to retail ratio coming to the 17th Avenue area.
