What is Afrikadey, Anyway?
What is Afrikadey!? Created by The Afrikadey! Arts & Culture Society directed by Tunde Dawodu. This festival observes the affluence and vitality of the African way of life. “Africa is Alive, Africa is Well, Africa is There” the meaning of Afrikadey! derived from the broken English spoken in West Africa.
Why is this festival unforgettable? Reminiscent of Africa the event is truly gratifying with its variety. A bursting cornucopia of literature, art, dance, and musical styles entrenched in the mother land.
Calgary is home to numerous Africans and this is a fantastic occasion for them to come together as one with the Calgarians and residents of surrounding areas to embrace the beauty of their traditions. As they have done for 23 years strong, the Afrikadey! Festival will link all participants African & non-African through appetizing food, imaginative arts, and lively music. Let’s Make 2015 the most memorable Afrikadey! Festival to date.
