What to expect
The menu is a collection of items that Chef Roy Oh has created to incorporate the flavours and ingredients from Korea. While there are Canadian influences and modern techniques used in preparing them, you’ll still feel whisked away to Korea with every dish.
You won’t be bored with their menu selections and you’ll definitely want to try something from the creative beverage program created by Stephen Phipps, Andrew Stewart and Stephen Stewart. They’ve created a beer, wine and cocktail list to go perfect with the cuisine at Anju.
The restaurant first opened in 2008 in the west side of downtown Calgary and hit it bigger than expected for the location. Owner Oh decided it could only reach its full potential by moving it so the upscale Korean eatery moved to 2013 and has been better than ever. Find it now at 344 17th Avenue SW open for lunch on weekdays from 11am-2pm and dinner from 5pm-1am all week long.
For lunch, enjoy grilled chicken salads, burgers, steak, chicken sandwiches, Bento, Doshirak, lettuce wraps and so much more. Dinner offers varieties like the raw bar of oysters and beef tartare, the deep cried options, spicy and salty drinking food options and excellent desserts. Try the Foie Gras and Tofu, Grilled Lamb Chops, Prawn Tempura, Korean Fried Chicken, Soy Ginger Chicken and so much more.
