Last week, companies belonging to the Calgary Region Canadian Home Builders' Association had the honour of receiving 10 Awards of Excellence. These awards were handed out in Jasper at the conference “CHBA-Alberta BUILD” on Friday.
Considering that there were only 23 awards handed out, Calgary builders fared extremely well. Builders in the Edmonton region walked away with 9 awards, 3 companies from the Central Alberta Region received awards and one building company in Lethbridge also won an award. In all, 22 different companies ended up winning.
The judging took into consideration value, finishes, layout, functionality, curb appeal, training, safety, volunteerism, contractor management, results from customer satisfaction surveys, and special features presented in the home. The builders that received the most points combined won the awards in each separate category.
There were 156 judges that looked at homes that ranged in price from less than $245,000 to $1.75 million and more. A total of 417 entries kept the judges busy.
Hopewell Residential in Calgary won an award for community development for its Mahogany community in the southeast quadrant of the city. Ralph Scurfield Builder of the Year Award was presented to Albi Homes in the large volume category and Avi Urban won the prestigious Multi-Family Builder of the Year Award for its Edmonton and Calgary projects. All of these builders are Calgary-based companies.
The Calgary winners included the following builders:
- Albi Homes and Albi Renova
- Homes by Avi and Avi Urban
- Stepper Custom Homes
- Van Manna Homes
- Vesta Properties
- Empire Custom Homes
- Estata Developments
- Block Home Development and Design
Congratulations to these Calgary builders that did exceptionally well at these awards. We'll be looking forward to outstanding results once again next year!
