Nice Cream was dreamed up by the owners who tried liquid nitrogen ice cream for the first time in San Francisco. They began researching and attempting to make their own ice cream recipe and finally opened their shop in August.
How is the Ice Cream Made?
You can watch your ice cream order made right in front of you as they use homemade ice cream mix and liquid nitrogen. It consists of tasteless fluid that freezes swiftly due to its remarkably low temperature of negative 196 degrees Celsius. This means that you can watch your frozen treat appear as if by magic as it takes mere seconds to go from a state of liquid to solid. The dazzling mist that appears helps add to the magical effect.
What’s the Benefit of Using Nitrogen?
So are there any benefits of using nitrogen besides the coolness of watching it made? The answer is yes! Nobody likes those crunchy ice crystals that form on ice cream. The texture is unappetizing and it alters the taste. Ice cream that is made rapidly doesn’t allow ice crystals to form leaving it tasting amazing with a velvety texture.
Flavours and Toppings
Presently Nice Cream has four flavours which consist of Mass Chocolate, Salted Caramel, Mt Robson Vanilla, and Pekoe Earl Grey. They are working on more flavours and would like to have six total with some of the flavours being used during different seasons. There are different toppings such as walnuts, gummy bears, chocolate chips, and gingerbread.
