Calgary is full of great bars of all different types and provides a number of excellent choices. Here are the coolest bars you can visit in Calgary.

Milk Tiger Lounge

Many have said this hole-in-the-wall is similar to a New York City type of bar. It's a bit narrow and small, but once you get to a table, it's worth it. Milk Tiger Lounge provides an extensive cocktail list with plenty of great features.

The menu is full of excellent choices and this is a great place for music, as well. The lounge is open from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. Tuesday through Sunday.

Vin Room West

Located on the west end of town is the Vin Room West. It's perfect for wine and tapas for something lighter to eat. They have a large bar with wine dispensers and over 100 wines available. It's a quiet environment which means your visit won't be interrupted.

Broken City

This popular social club and live music venue provides an interesting choice for your regular hole-in-the-wall. Live music is found here on a regular basis and the place is a bit artsy, as well.

If you enjoy all types of events from DJs to comedy to punk rock bingo, this is your type of bar. The bar is open from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. daily and they do have a patio, which stays open until 12 a.m. when the weather is warm enough.

YYC Lounge

If you need to stop by the airport, there is a great spot called the YYC Lounge at Delta Calgary Airport. It's a nice lounge off the lobby with brown leather chairs, low wooden tables and high seats at the bar. It's quiet because they've soundproofed the location and the perfect spot to enjoy international beers and their wine menu.

The Iron Goat

A casual dining experience you won't soon forget is provided at The Iron Goat. This spot is one of the best in the area with two elevated patios and plenty of excellent food. You will enjoy the three level restaurant with plenty of amazing views.

These bars are the hippest and most popular in Calgary. Give them all a try and find your new favourite.
