The Belvedere

The Belvedere is a great choice if you need to attend somewhere for a business meeting. They keep the lights dim and the couches are soft. It’s not a noisy bar, and it’s upscale, yet welcoming. It’s a great place to wrap up the day or celebrate your successes. They have excellent martinis made with Belvedere vodka and an excellent wine menu. Enjoy a fine dining experience under the huge skylight.

Hop in Brew Pub

This fantastic brew pub is found in an old house with a massive selection of beer. They provide some of the best pizza in the area and the locals love this hole-in-the-wall.

The pub attracts beer snobs from all over the city and pizza lovers in droves. It's a cool place to hang out and suited for all different types of people. They open the doors at 4 p.m. every day of the week except Saturdays, which the open at 6 p.m. They stay open until at least 12 a.m. every night. However, the pub is closed on Sundays.

Rush Ocean Prime

Rush Ocean Prime is another great bar. They are located across from the Palliser. They have private rooms for different meeting sizes or you can meet in their lounge. They have carpeted dining rooms and high ceilings making the place feel large and beautiful. Their food and drink menu are excellent. You can sit in the lounge and get a street side view of 9th Avenue in one of their cushioned chairs for your outing over a cocktail and seafood.

Milk Tiger Lounge

Many have said this hole-in-the-wall is similar to a New York City type of bar. It's a bit narrow and small, but once you get to a table, it's worth it. Milk Tiger Lounge provides an extensive cocktail list with plenty of great features.

The menu is full of excellent choices and this is a great place for music, as well. The lounge is open from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. Tuesday through Sunday.

Vin Room West

Located on the west end of town is the Vin Room West. It’s perfect for wine and tapas for something lighter to eat. They have a large bar with wine dispensers and over 100 wines available. It’s a quiet environment which means your visit won’t be interrupted.

Broken City

This popular social club and live music venue provides an interesting choice for your regular hole-in-the-wall. Live music is found here on a regular basis and the place is a bit artsy, as well.

If you enjoy all types of events from DJs to comedy to punk rock bingo, this is your type of bar. The bar is open from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. daily and they do have a patio, which stays open until 12 a.m. when the weather is warm enough.

YYC Lounge

If you need to stop by the airport, there is a great spot called the YYC Lounge at Delta Calgary Airport. It’s a nice lounge off the lobby with brown leather chairs, low wooden tables and high seats at the bar. It’s quiet because they’ve soundproofed the location and the perfect spot to enjoy international beers and their wine menu.

The Iron Goat

A casual dining experience you won't soon forget is provided at The Iron Goat. This spot is one of the best in the area with two elevated patios and plenty of excellent food. You will enjoy the three level restaurant with plenty of amazing views.
