As the temperature continues to remain cold, stay warm inside by using these decorating tips for winter. Winter décor can be exciting and inspiring when you use sheepskins, furry rugs, cozy pillows and warming centerpieces!

All eyes on the fireplace

If you're lucky enough to own a fireplace, now is the time to put the focus on it. Make sure that all of your chairs and couches are facing the fireplace in order to create a warm and cozy spot where the family can gather.

Keep your spirits up

Add some colour to areas of your home that are looking dull and drab. Colourful window treatments, bright furry rugs and pillows can breathe some extra life into neutral spaces.

Layering up for winter

In order to create an extra sense of warmth in your home, layer it up just as you would put on extra layers of clothes when it's cold outside. Cover your dining room chairs with slipcovers and use extra pillows and throws on your sofa. You'll feel cozy up every time you have a seat! Bundle up your bed with extra bedding and you may even want to consider indulging in a new luxurious cashmere blanket for added warmth.

A sheepskin rug will fit in anywhere!

Even if you don't have a fireplace, you can use a sheepskin rug in any room. Put one in your bedroom so that the first feeling you experience when you get out of bed is the warmth of the sheepskin rug between your toes. Toss one over a chair as a decorative piece and then use it to cover up on the extra chilly evenings.

Pick up some extra area rugs

Add some spark and colour to your rooms with area rugs. For added warmth and style, use the layering technique and rest one rug on a different one. Not only will you create your own unique fashion statement for the winter but your feet will thank you every time you take a step!
