Another year has passed and another Remembrance Day is upon us. It's the perfect time to sit back and reflect on the things we have. and often take for granted, and the people that helped to keep this country free.

This year, an inaugural ceremony was held on the observation deck of the Calgary Tower. It was called the Flame of Remembrance Ceremony and symbolized one of the lines from the famous poem, "In Flanders Fields" by John McRae.

The ceremony is a partnership between Valour Canada and the Calgary Tower. Valour Canada is an organization dedicated to military remembrance.

It has been 60 years since the Korean War ended so 2013 has been named the Year of the Korea War Veteran. This ceremony  honoured all veterans and was dedicated also to the Canadians,…
