Welcome to the world of Calgary lofts where creativity is the word of the day. Lofts give you the opportunity to create your own living space and that is why more and more professionals and artists are purchasing lofts to call their home. Open space abounds in these units with soaring ceilings and unpartitioned open areas that can be modified to invent a space that can truly be called your own.

Most Calgary lofts are located close to the downtown core, which is perfect for people that work in the area and are looking for an easy commute. Hard lofts are conversions in industrial or heritage buildings that offer unique features such as exposed beams, bricks, fireplaces and concrete floors. The floor plans are left wide open and the windows are usually large and inviting.

Soft lost are new developments that use an open planning concept with high ceilings, but they don't offer a lot of the features that can be found in converted lofts. There's something about the conversions that simply cannot be duplicated in newer lofts.

One example of the conversions available in Calgary right now is the Imperial Lofts. These sets of converted lofts were open for purchase in 1995 in an industrial building built for the Imperial Tobacco Company. Conveniently located in the inner city, the lofts are in a perfect location for exploring the nightlife and restaurants downtown and getting back and forth from work. These lofts offer concrete framework, brick walls and ceilings that rise to a towering 13 feet high.

Lofts have long been popular in the United States and they're catching on here in Canada at a surprising rate. People that are drawn to these types of units like the freedom and versatility that they offer for decorating and design purposes. While artists and young professionals have often decided to settle in lofts in order to create a home with personality, others are now looking at lofts for the unique features they offer and as a fantastic investment opportunity. If you haven't yet had the opportunity to take a look at Calgary Lofts, search through the listings to see pictures and to view what's available. You may be surprised to find that you are one of the many that are drawn towards these interesting units as well!
